What Is Heating-Central.com?
Heating-Central is a new web and mobile app work management system for heating and plumbing engineers. It is designed specifically for the UK, with British regulations and certification schemes built in from the ground up. It is designed for companies of any size, from sole traders to companies with many engineers in the field.
Why Would I Use it?
For some years we have been working with heating and plumbing companies who struggle with managing their customer and work records efficiently. Information is often paper-based - so if you have office staff, they often cannot find information and records quickly, especially when talking to customers on the phone.
And if you do not have office staff, you need to be able to access customer and job information online when you're out in the field.
You may also need to send reminders to customers about servicing their appliances or completing safety inspections, but it's hard to find information about service visits or inspections which were completed a year or more ago.
How Does Heating-Central Help?
Heating-Central.com addresses this problem by providing a web-based system for storing and searching records of customers (both owner-occupiers and landlords), and of all the work which you have completed on different properties. Information can be added by typing it in on the website, but new job information can also be added by your Engineers using a mobile App. The mobile App provides a form-filling system in which forms are pre-populated with job, customer and appliance information, to save Engineers re-entering the same data several times - for example, on Landlord/Homeowner Gas Safety Certificates, or for jobs which require multiple site visits.
What Is The Heating-Central Mobile App?
Our mobile app provides engineers with a way of filling out job sheets and safety inspection facilities using a mobile device such as a phone or a tablet. Completed job sheets are uploaded back to the Heating-Central server, where the work details can be seen via our website.
What Do I Need To Run The Heating-Central Mobile App?
Our App runs on Android phones and tablets - the minimum version requirement is Android 4.4, but Android 5.0 or higher is recommended.
Do you have an iPhone version of the App?
No - at present the App is only available for Android devices.
How Does Heating-Central Simplify Job Management?
The Job Record system automatically summarises information about multiple Engineer visits on a single screen, and can even generate Invoices for you. The system also stores details of specific appliances, including photographs, which Engineers gather using the App while on site.
How Much Does The Service Cost?
Eventually Heating-Central will be charged as monthly subscription service, with prices starting at £20 per calendar month. But at present we are still developing the service, and it has not yet been launched commercially - we expect to launch sometime in 2019, but we will only launch when have completed development and extensive testing.
So we are looking for partners to help us with developing and testing the system, and we already have a couple of companies using it to manage their work and record engineer visits using the Heating-Central App. If you would be interested in helping us with development and testing, please contact us for more details.
Is Heating-Central compliant with GDPR regulations?
When you use Heating-Central to manage your work, it is inevitable that you will store some personal data on our system - for example, the names and addresses of your domestic customers. This personal data is subject to the GDPR regulations.
We take all reasonable precautions to protect this data from theft, and we also provide a mechanism which enables you to delete a customer's personal data from our system if they ask you to do so. This means that we fulfil the requirements of GDPR legislation - though it is also your responsibility to ensure that you do not expose your customer data to theft by (for example) giving unauthorised people access to your Heating Central account.

Creative Technology (MicroDesign) Ltd was established in 1989, and has been providing computer, IT and web-based data systems and services to a wide range of customers for over 25 years. We are based in Uttoxeter, in the English Midlands.
